Where is Wales? (and is it in England?)

Where is Wales?

Wales is a part of the island of Great Britain and a constituent country of the United Kingdom.

Is it in England?

No. The United Kingdom is made up of four countries namely England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. England is the largest and by far the most populous so in some parts of the world (but not actually in the UK, since it is incorrect) the terms England and United Kingdom are used interchangeably.

What’s the Difference Between The British Isles, Great Britain and the United Kingdom?

The British Isles are a group of Islands off the north-western coast of continental Europe. There are over 6,000 islands in the British Isles but the two largest by a long long way are Great Britain and the island of Ireland.

The island of Great Britain is split into three countries, namely, England, Scotland and Wales.

The island of Ireland is split into two countries, namely, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The United Kingdom (officially The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) is, as stated above, made up of four countries, namely, England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The Republic of Ireland is an independent country and is not part of the United Kingdom.
